you need to apply a toner this will make the colour duller and give a more natural look

You could try using something like one of the Harmony colours and just leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing it out.

I use it to cover the grey hairs once a week in the shower - wash hair with normal shampoo, pat dry. Rub in about 1" of the harmony stuff.

Then I get on with washing the rest of me in the shower and when finished, wash out the colouring. It gives just enough colour to hide the grey and makes for the natural look of mixed colour.

Buy blonde hair dye in the correct colour and use it.

Go your local salon and get them to dye your hair a light brown colour 1st and then caramel highlights, then through time start to lighten the highlights from there.

I would go and buy a dark blonde hair dye (you can compare the effect on the back of the box, well most dyes have comparisons on the back). If you go for exactly the colour you want it may not set and will fade and could stay too light, with a darker blonde it will fade and if it does lighten it will stay somewhat natural and not too light.

either a temporary colour or permanate of your choice and put it over the blonde. do not dye your hair brown without having it done professionally please i am a hairdresser and have seen nasty effects!

to be honest you should go to a salon as it really sounds that it has been over processed and will need a good toner to sort out, as you have tried the home method please do not go any further with it, its your crowing glory do not wreck it on the cheap it can be sorted believe me

if you buy another blonde colour from shops this will damage your hair alot more as blonde colours contain high peroxide

which you dont want to lift your hair any lighter you need a tonner or even better they now do good semi perm colours in blondes these donot caontain high peroxide its so low hardly has any some dont contain it at all they are best alot less damaging also make hair soft and shinny.

get some low-lights through hair to brake up colour it will tone it down would advised salon for this wont be much maybe 鎷?0/30 if you really want to do it at home there is kit think its by lo real you get the wand thing but i tried this and messed it up got to greedy with high- lights looked like bird **** on my head they were everywhere. had to go to hairdressers eventually so would advised not to do it yourself and hairdresser will put them in better more sutler tones than bird **** head. might not even be as much if you get half head done once a few are in it will tone them down
