This is very damaging to your hair, and unless you are willing to keep up with it, do not do it all over. The best way to approach this is to have some highlights put in, this way you gradually get lighter and its not so harsh. You can add more as often as you like, have your stylist slice smally (not weave) the highlights. This way, next time you go back, she will not be re-highlighting over already bleached hair.

to the other poster who died her hair brown, it turned green because the brown you chose was probably ash-based. You have to fill the hair with something before coloring darker, you have less melanin in your hair than someone with naturally darker hair.

your hair could over process, you could have a significant amount of hair loss, you need controlled heat. Most likely what will happen if you try it yourself, is that you will end up with orange hair. If you have truely black hair, that is a level 1. to be blonde, you will need to lift at least 7 levels and that will only be light brown/dark blonde level 7. store bought color does not tell you what volume developer they are using, and you will need 40 volume minimum. if you attempt this at home, be prepared to hate it. Color correction is $$$$$$. save yourself the time and trouble and expense and have it done professionally in a salon.

you are going to have to double process it a few times. Like go on day %26amp; dye your hair, then go back in 2 wks and do it again. You'll need to do that until you get the colour you like. If you do it all in one sitting you can really damage your hair %26amp; it may even fall out!!!

Not such a good idea if you do like blonde though try highlights its easier to keep up with than dying your hair blonde and its pretty too also if you have darker skin blonde wont look good so definitly go with highlights

You have to get professional strength hair dye or go to a salon. The first time you do it have a professional do it !!! But if you must Sally's is a good do it your self.. buy two boxes and do it over the weekend. The first time you do it your self it might only end up gray/silver so you will have to do it a second time. You are bleaching your hair and stripping it of all it's nuetrians that is why it is losing it's color so yes it is hard on your hair to take away color... so please get it done by a professional. I ask the salon person what would go best with your skin tones.

u'll have to bleach it and then probably will have to go back and put the color you like on your hair, however this process can be damaging to the hair so you might want to reconsider coloring your hair

i had the same problem-i had dyed my hair black but then i wanted 2 dye it a much lighter color-so i had 2 go 2 the salon %26amp; get it done professionally. cuz i didn't want my hair 2 fall out or have anything go wrong. so they bleached my hair for about 20-25 mins, it turned out 2 be blonde @ the top, black in the middle, %26amp; light brown @ the bottom. so my stylist said that it was gonna be difficult 2 work w/ the black in the middle, so he bleached only the middle part for 20 mins. %26amp; it came out 2 be a dark blonde. so he dyed my hair a light brownish reddish. %26amp; it came out 2 look really good. i thought it was gonna come out 2 be different colors but it all came out as a 1 solid color. i didn't have high expectations but he did a really awesome job. he then cut the tips, layered my hair, %26amp; blow dried it -%26amp; all i paid was $60 + tip. u should go somewhere that u trust-%26amp; my hair isn't strawy or gum-like, cuz i heard that when ppl do this-their hair becomes damaged. oh, %26amp; when u go home u have 2 take good care of ur hair-ask the stylist what u should get or sometimes they will give u some free samples of stuff u should use. my hair hasn't come out 2 be damaged. i've also considered doing it myself but i've seen ppls hair fall out, turn orange, %26amp; look real bad.

i dyed my hair from dark brown to light blonde. it turned out beautiful but i recommend you condition it for about a week before dying it and condition it like crazy after because it is a long process and does a lot of damage to your hair. the conditioner will strengthen your hair to take it. i used the herbal essences hair dye. you can always go to your hair dresser to get it done.

just remember if nothing ELSE but this "CONDITIONER"
