I want to bleach out a part of my hair but my hair is so dark (almost black) can any one help me?

i really want to blean out a part of me hair blond so i can dye it weird colors but everytime i tried bleaching out a part it turned like an orange color does anyone have any adivce?

best to go to a salon and have a prof. do it for you or run the risk of hurting your hair and making it look horrible since it is so dark

I'm not sure if you know why it turns orange. When you are lightening your hair, your are removing all natural and artificial pigment. naturally in our hair, especially when it is dark, we have red, orange and yellow tones. so when you are seeing orange, you are leaving the lightener on long enough.

but, you only have to lighten it to the desired level. for example. color levels typically range from 1 - 10. 1 being black, and 10 being platinum. if you naturally have a level 2 or 3, but your desired color is a level 6, your only have to lighten a little bit. It doesn't have to be completely bleached out and blond in order for the hair to accept a new color.

My best advice? See a professional, because you obviously there is a lot to take into consideration when doing something chemically to your hair.
