Why does hardly anyone dye their hair black unless they are a goth?

I just wondered looking at different people, hardly anoyone dyes their hair jet black unless they are a goth. I do, and it suits me far better than my hair colour (I have latin features but was bnorn with blond hair!). Why is this? Is it just a fashion?

i had really dark hair as a kid and it started to go light as i got older so i dye it black and i have been called a goth, it's the stupid people who don't know what a goth is what think black hair automatically means a goth, i dye my hair black because it suits my features and light hair makes me look mousy and i prefer to look a little more exotic, i think the natural extreme colours such as red and black are the sexist colours on a women

I would love to dye my hair black. I almost have black hair but when my hair is wet it looks black and i think it looks good. Unfortunately i don't think my mum would be too happy.

I don't know, either people don't want black hair or they think people will think they are a goth. That's another reason why i'm not because i already get called a goth cos i'm pale and have dark hair!

people dont dye their hair black simply because it looks unnatural! people get highlights to make their hair more exciting and give it that cute summery look! unless you have tanned skin it makes you look dead!

Actually, at my highschool right now, a lot of people have been dying their hair black. I think that it looks really bad on them but just because they dye it black doesnt mean theyre goth...

i was born with lovely brownish black hair and luckily in my school/area...people dont call me goth/emo just because of my hair colour..nah...everyone can have black hair if they want....its not for goth/emos only...maybe because many people has light skin and black hair wont suit them and make them look washed out...just my humble opinion....

Your lucky that black hair looks nice on you. Black hair doesnt suite everyone so not many people will dye their hair black for that reason. And if they do, they must alot of make up to carry it off

Unless they are an emo/goth/rocker, they dont care whether it suites them or not. Its more a statement
