What can I use to strip build up out of my hair?

I normally go get it washed professionaly which takes forever. They leave a treatment on for like 45 minutes.

I have well water and the build up in my hair is crazy.

I bought KPAK cheleating shampoo a ION reconstructer and KPAK conditioner.

This did not strip it or help at all.

Any ideas?

My well water has mostly iron in it and turns my blonder hair.

Do you have a beauty supply store near you (preferably Sally's ) ?

If so, go %26amp; get this stuff:

You use it as a treatment to remove the iron %26amp; other minerals. ( I have shoulder length hair %26amp; need 2 packets each time I do it) It really works ! ( you will need to pick up an applicator bottle while you are there as well)

Once you have removed the mineral build-up, you should use a shampoo %26amp; conditioner that is specifically made for well water. Here's a link to the shampoo that they sell there.....it's really good (they also have the conditioner as well, but, I figuered I'd just put the link to the shampoo) :

If you use the shampoo %26amp; conditioner every time you wash your hair, your hair will be back to it's normal color ( w/ no mineral buildup).

Baking soda won't hurt you, but I'm not sure it will solve your problem, either. What you need is a filter to remove some of the iron from your water, eliminating the problem at the source. The clarifying shampoos are really meant to remove buildup from hair styling products (mousse, gel, spray, etc.), not chemicals from your water.

if you need to strip build up try using a claryfying champoo...redken makes a good one called hair cleansing cream...try it..paul mitchell makes one called shampoo 3...you can get them at a salon that sells these products...if you have well water clarifying shampoo is made for people with well water...try it and good luck

Try this and is very cheap. Use baking soda once a week. Rub one part of baking soda with your regular shampoo and then wash. I usually do this once a week followed by a hair treatment.

You can use a clarifying shampoo once a week in your hair and that helps alot with build up. I like herbal essences clairifying shampoo. because it smells good and it works pretty good without being pricey.
